To make the baby bump Baby Shower cake you will need a 3 litre Pyrex bowl (for the belly) and 2 x 0.5 litre Pyrex bowls for the chest.
For the cake -
1. Mix the 15 oz butter and 15 oz sugar in bowl and beat until smooth. Add the flour and eggs and beat once again until smooth. Divide mixture between the Pyrex bowls filling up to 3/4 full and level the surfaces.
Grease the bowls well.
2. Bake the large 3 litre bowl cake in the centre of a preheated oven - 180°C (350°F, gas mark 4) for 40-45 minutes, or until the cakes have risen and are golden, and spring back when lightly pressed in the centre. Allow 20-25 mins for the small 0.5 litre bowl cakes or until the cakes have risen and are golden, and spring back when lightly pressed in the centre
3. Remove the cakes from the oven and leave them to cool in the bowls for 5-10 minutes, then turn them out on to a wire rack and leave them to cool completely.
For the filling -
Butter cream - Mix the 5oz butter and icing sugar until creamy. You may need to add more butter/icing sugar to flavor to your taste.
Cut the 3 dome cakes in half.
Spread the jam over the base of the bottom half of the cakes. Then spread half of the butter cream over the base of the other half of the cakes. Sandwich the two half's of each cake together.
Decoration -
Place the 2 small dome cakes above the large dome cake to look like the pregnant belly. Cover all the cakes with the remaining butter cream (this will give the rolled icing something to stick to).
Roll out the baby blue ready roll icing on a floured surface. Place on top of the cakes and cut out the silhouette.
Repeat rolling out the chocolate brown ready roll icing and use different sized circle cutters to cut out the poker dots for the dress. Use a knife carefully to cut out the ribbon. Use a small brush with water to attach the chocolate icing.
Serve and enjoy!
